I've spent time over the past few years formulating a plan for staying connected with my precious family. I dislike the currently popular Facebook platform for families to connect because those sacred interactions are too easily lost in the noise. Instagram is not quite enough. I'm sure other options will arise and I'll keep them in mind, but here we are now. So how to capitalize on the glorious capabilities of the internet, while maintaining as personal of a connection as possible?
We have officially launched our first chick from the nest, and, although I've forbidden anyone else from growing up, I'm suspicious they'll all do it anyway. The time has come to record our family history using an easily accessible format for all our children, wherever they are.
This blog will hopefully develop into a resource of stories and photos and history. I hope it will provide a platform for encouragement and love between family members.
Please keep your invitation secure. Please keep the photos and experiences shared here with confidence within our family. Please obey basic rules of family communication such as:
Build up one another
Avoid sarcasm
Encourage the good
Avoid competition
Be generous
Face-to-face contact is best
One-on-on interactions save lives
I love your guts forever, no matter what. You are my greatest treasure and I am profoundly rich.
Love,
Mom
